| My Name is Tiffany Yeary and I have Zabesii (zu-bess-ee) Cockers in Tennessee. I know, it is an odd name but I came up with the name by combining my children's' names - Elizabeth and Jessie. My family (husband- Adam, two children, and our cocker kids) is very important to me so this was the perfect family name for us. I have had Cockers my whole life and I absolutely love this breed. I cannot imagine my life without a cocker! As far back as I can remember there has always been a cocker in my life. When I was young we had a black cocker named Stymie. He was my shadow. He had the most beautiful coat and personality and everyone who saw him always had to compliment him. Stymie is in all of my childhood memories. He had a very long, spoiled life and passed away just before we moved to Tennessee. I was a high school freshmen at the time and was at my best friends house for the weekend when I received a telephone call from my dad. He said that he was coming to get me. There was no explanation why, but when Dad said something you accepted it. On the way home he told me that he found Stymie under our boat. He had fallen asleep there and had never woke up. It took me four years to get over the loss of Stymie and in that time I found a wonderful man and made him my husband. LOL!! It was not long after the birth of our daughter that we decided that we wanted a dog. We looked at the local news paper and I saw the heading "Cocker Spaniel Puppies". All of the memories of Stymie came flooding back to me and I knew that my daughter would have a wonderful friend if we adopted a Cocker. Luke, a red Cocker, was our first cocker spaniel as a family. Not even a month after we got Luke my husband thought that it would be fun to have some puppies and we should breed Luke. So we got a little buff and white girl named Daisy. Like many other breeders we had no clue of what we were doing when we started out and it was not until I met my very good friend of Walking in the F.O.G. that I heard the word "conformation" and much more "Cocker Speak". My world open up so quickly that my head spun for months. She suggested books and links that I bought and studied. Now, I have babies that I am proud of and I know my purpose/duty as a "responsible breeder". Of course I am not an expert by any means. There is so much to learn about this breed that it will take my entire life to really understand everything but I am committed to trying to learn every single aspect of a Cocker that I can. If I have not stated it yet, I am a small hobby breeder and my goal is to improve the breed but I will not own a dog unless I know everything that I can about it. I fell in love with sables - this color just melts me - so this is the focus of Zabesii. Of course sables cannot be shown in the US, and this is really the reason that I do not show now, but I do have showing my dogs as a goal that I am trying to reach. I still need to work on my lines more and need to work up the nerve while continuing my Cocker research and education. Here at Zabesii everyone takes a part in helping. My husband feeds, waters, pretty much helps with everything, and loves our babies, Elizabeth socializes and loves our babies, Jessie wants to do all the socializing by himself and doesn't understand why he can't, but he loves our babies, and I am the person with the knowledge who helps with everything and loves our babies. We are all just a great big family and love raising beautiful, healthy, happy, pre-spoiled babies so that our adoptive or "extended families" can enjoy the love that we receive every day. Please look around our site and visit as often as you like. Don't for get to tell us what you think. |

| Besides cockers we do many other things. I am a second grade school teacher. My husband is a farmer and we have two beautiful children. Jessie is three years old and into everything and Elizabeth is ten years old and the perfect shot. We are an outdoors family. My husband was born a hunter and our children are following in his footsteps. We believe nothing should go to waist and eat everything we kill. We all love to fish as we live right next to the Powell River. We are Christians and have a very strong faith. We are pretty much the average family. Take a look at some of our pictures around the farm and I think you can see what kind of family we are. Enjoy!! |
